FC Copenhagen checking in
The Danish champion FC Copenhagen are in Bad Radkersburg for ten days to prepare for the season 2016/17. It is already for the tenth time in a row that the Danish record-holder champion has been our guest in Styria.
In the past season FC København won the title in the Danish league with a wide margin again after being just the runner-up behind FC Midtylland in the season before. Now FC København want to make history again in European football. Apart from defending their title in the season 2016/17 they have also set themselves the goal to leap into the Champions League.
The ten-day training camp in Bad Radkersburg is supposed to be the cornerstone for achieving this goal. On June 28th the team has checked in to their hotel and will be training hard in southern Styria in the next few days. The weather forecasts keep promising ideal training conditions; the training pitches are in top condition anyway.
It is already the tenth time in a row that FC Copenhagen have chosen Styria for their summer training camp. The Danish record-holder team (11 championship titles) appreciates the conditions of IFCS camps. In particular they are satisfied with the great variety of possible test-match opponents. Also this summer three test matches are scheduled. We will report about these matches, of course.
Just five days after their return flight to Denmark, FC Copenhagen players will have to pack their bags again to fly to Belfast on July 12th. It is in Belfast on July 13th when the first qualifying match for the Champions League will be played. We wish the team of manager Stale Solbakken all the best and hope, of course, that the perfect training conditions in Bad Radkersburg can contribute to their success.
