IFCS to host the home elite-round matches of the Austrian Football Federation U17
In March the players born in 2001 are to compete against their peers from France, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Denmark to hopefully ensure their participation in the U17 European championship in England. IFCS is responsible for the organization of this qualifying tournament.
Apart from the host nation England another fifteen teams will participate in the final round of the U17 European championship in England between May 4th and May 20th. Austria´s 2001 birth cohorts around football prodigies Thierno Ballo (FC Chelsea) and Flavius Daniliuc (Real Madrid) are taking on their peers from France, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Denmark.
The red-white-red squad can enjoy the home advantage in this qualifying tournament being played in the group mode. IFCS organizes this so-called elite round and will provide accommodation for the teams in the partner hotels at Bad Waltersdorf (Hotel Falkensteiner) and Loipersdorf (Hotel Stoiser). The matches will be played in the stadiums of TUS Bad Waltersdorf and SV Rohrbach.
The other European champion participants are to be selected in eight elite rounds. The winners of each elite round and the seven best runner-up teams will qualify for the final round in May. Austria´s U17 team manager Rupert Marko is satisfied with the luck of the draw, “This group is a real challenge. We look forward to the games against strong opponents in front of a home crowd.”
